Weddings & Special Events

I am available to perform for wedding ceremonies, funerals, memorials, and other special events in New York City's five boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. For other locations, special arrangements can be made.

Weddings

The entertainment selected for a wedding ceremony is a major factor in setting the mood and tone of the event. Walking down the aisle to music that has personal meaning will enhance your ceremony and give you a lasting and beautiful memory of your experience. It gives me a tremendous amount of joy to be a part of a wedding day, a day that weaves together the lives of a couple and is the start of a new beginning.

"Marissa went above and beyond to not only learn the piece we wanted for our wedding but to have a recording of the melody created when I couldn't even begin to think of where to get one. She also took care to rehearse it beforehand with us at our location so we could be sure it sounded exactly how we wanted it to. And thank goodness she did! Even after we realized the acoustics were an issue, Marissa was able to modulate her tone and volume perfectly within a few short renditions. I will never forget the uniqueness of entering my wedding to the sound of her voice."

Funerals/Memorials

I have been singing at funeral and memorial services since 2001. One specific service that really touched my heart and affected me deeply was at Boston University. The tragic events of 9/11 had just occurred several weeks earlier, and I was asked to sing at a service dedicated to a girl who had died in one of the planes which struck the twin towers.
During this service I realized that even at times of mourning and sorrow music can be uplifting to the spirit, and that it can express how we feel more clearly than words alone. It can also open us up to the fullness of our grief, so that we may begin to truly heal from our losses.

I always perform with sensitivity, compassion, and with a high emphasis on appearance and presentation. I am deeply committed to singing in a way which will keep the memory of your loved one in your heart forever.
